Chemical - Washington StreetTransmission Line Rebuild Project


Appalachian Power representatives plan to increase electric reliability by making upgrades in Kanawha County in West Virginia.

Construction begins summer 2027 and concludes fall 2028.

Project Updates

August 26, 2025: Appalachian Power invites community members and landowners in the project area to an in-person open house to speak with project members to learn more. There is no formal presentation, so landowners can attend at any time that is most convenient to them.

Tuesday, September 9 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Shining Light Celebration Church, 1800 5th Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387.
